Sarpeiman (G/A), Aug. 30, GNA – Torgbui Agah Semaglo I, Nkosuohene of Sarpeiman-Faase near Amasaman in the Ga West Municipality, on Tuesday called on politicians to speed up development projects in their communities.
He called on politicians to avoid using abusive languages against their opponents and rather mobilise the people to initiate development projects and help establish vocational or technical institutions that would offer the youth some employable skills.
He said they could also construct more places of convenience for people, provide boreholes for the rural areas, create areas for refuse dumps and help nurture and establish small scale industries for the people.
Torgbui Agah Semaglo who is also a herbalist, appealed to politicians to put an end to tribalism and help fight for the development of our youth.
Torgbui Agah Semaglo made the call at Sarpeiman-Faase after a general meeting with the ten youth groups in the area aimed at how to help their community foster more developmental projects.
Some of the youth groups include the Agbon Youth Association, Sarpeiman Association and Sarpeiman-Faase Association.
Torgbui Agah Semaglo said education is the key to development and that it was time parents used their resources on the education of their wards
He urged the youth not to allow any politician to deceive with money during the forthcoming elections, but rather concentrate on their education.
He appealed to chiefs, queen mothers and landlords not to use the youth as land-guards during land litigation but release the land for meaningful development projects for the society.
Torgbui Agah Semaglo later conducted the groups round some development projects he had constructed for the Sarpeiman-Faase society.
The projects included three boreholes, ten-seater water-closet toilet and the construction of a teacher’s quarters at Kofi Quaye.
