Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, the founder and leader of the Glorious Word International Ministries, has suggested there is more to the deaths of students of Kumasi Academy, than the H1N1 Influenza virus.

He indicated that the deaths of the students should be examined beyond the biological diagnosis of the cause of the crisis, towards spiritual factors. “We can’t only attribute this to some infectious diseases. We have to deal with it spiritually as well.

We should not ignore spiritual intervention to this issue,” Rev. Owusu Bempah stated. In a report by Peacefmonline.com, the controversial man of God noted that while the doctors’ report on the issue may be valid, he did not want to rule out the works of evil spirits against the children of GOD.

“I learnt some years back, teachers were those dying in the school and now its students. This is spiritual and we must break that from future happenings,” he further stated. He, therefore, called for intensive prayers for God’s intervention on the matter, as that was the only solution to end the crisis.

In an emergency press briefing last week, the health minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu had revealed that out of 44 cases reported, only 4 have died bringing to a total 11 deaths in the year alone.

Samples of students taken for intense investigation at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research revealed that out of the 19 samples collected, 12 tested positive for Influenza Type A.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Deputy Minister for Education, has disclosed that the Kumasi Academy would be closed down following the deaths of the students.
