Let’s remember Naadu Mills in prayers – Rev Amoo-Darku

A former Member of the Council of State, Reverend Dr Nii Amoo-Darku is calling on all Ghanaians to remember the wife of late President John Evans Atta Mills in prayers.

He says the many Ghanaians, who would want to remember President Atta Mills ahead of the first anniversary of his death, should pray for strength for Dr Ernestina Naadu Mills to continue the legacy left behind by her late husband.

“[Before the 2008 Elections] Atta Mills and Auntie Naadu prayed to God to give Ghana to them so that they can give Ghana back to God,” he disclosed on TV3’s 7GMT on Monday, July 22, 2013, a day after the family marked the 69th birthday of the late president.

“Auntie Naadu has been carrying on,” he added. “She is serving God how she loved. She is doing well.”

Rev. Dr Amoo-Darku also shared some fond memories of his friend, whom he met in 1998.

“President Mills is one person down-to-earth, very sincere and very honourable. He was a selfless person and he meant well for the nation,” he added.

A Senior Pastor at the Bethel Baptist Church, Rev. Dr Amoo-Darku, admonished all Ghanaians to take up some of the qualities that the late president was noted for.

“He was always ready to forgive and forget,” he said of late Prof. Mills. He admonished: “If we want to serve God, let’s serve with seriousness [like President Mills did].”

President Atta Mills died on July 24, 2012 at the 37 Military Hospital at 2:15pm after he was taken ill.
