Let's support educational transformation for improved performance - Deputy Minister

The public have been urged to support changes ongoing at the country's educational sector as it is a way of improving upon the academic performance of pupils.

The Deputy Education minister, Gifty Twum-Ampofo at a visit to some churches in the Abuakwa north municipality also challenged religious leaders, traditional authorities and teachers to join in the process of the transformation.

She stressed the change in school uniform is to motivate pupils at the basic level to study hard in order to learn hard to attain higher heights.

The deputy minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for the constituency debunked rumor that government has taken out the study of Religious and Moral Education from the academic curriculum as it is committed to putting up a national cathedral.

Mrs. Twum-Ampofo however challenged schools not to sack any pupil from school due to printing fee.

She assured that government would soon provide photocopy machines to all Education offices across the country to aid in the printing of examination questions and therefore appealed to teachers to make themselves available for training to handle the printing of examination questions.

She was emphatic various policies initiated by the Akufo-led government would go a long way to ensuring improvement in the country's educational sector.
