The Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has admonished spokespersons of the transition teams to switch from a campaign mode as serious governance business begins.

The comments by Mr. Debrah comes after the spokesperson for the President-elect’s Transition Team, Mustapha Hamid, said the outgoing government has not handed over any notes to the incoming administration contrary to the Transitional Act 2012.

But speaking to the media Wednesday during the ongoing transition process in Accra, Mr. Debrah dismissed the claims stating that handing over notes from most of the ministries are ready.

He added that notes from the other ministries will be ready by Monday as agreed between the two teams.

“As we speak now almost all the handing over notes are ready…the handing over notes from Ministries of Finance, Lands, Transport, Chieftaincy, Food and Agriculture, Fisheries, Interior and Defence are ready and we will make sure the others are ready by Monday.”

Mr. Debrah added that the statements by the spokesperson of the NPP campaign team is not helpful to the progress of the transition team.

“I also want to draw the attention of the spokespersons of the two camps…it seems some people want us to continue with the campaign mode but since we are shifting from campaign mode to governance mode as much as possible we should try and control what we say so the transition does not veer off,” the former Eastern regional minister added.
