Juaso (Ash), May, 27, GNA - Mr De-graft Forkuo, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asante-Akim South, has underscored the need for various heads of departments to work in harmony to hasten the pace of development in the district. He said teamwork among them was crucial to the developmental agenda of the district and implored the heads to also complement the efforts of the assembly by pursuing viable programmes for the benefit of the people. Mr Forkuo made the call when he visited various departments of the assembly and other state agencies on his first day in office as DCE on Tuesday. Offices visited by the DCE were the Ghana Education Service (GES), Electoral Commission (EC), Juaso Circuit Court, District Police Headquarters, National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), among others.
The DCE who was accompanied by Mr. Kwadwo Akuamoah-Boateng, the District Coordinating Director, and Mr. D.L. Osei, Personnel Officer, called for mutual respect among the departments. He advised them to eschew partisanship in the execution of their duties and said he would not lord over the workers but co-operate with them to ensure effective administration of the district. He called on stakeholders to come on board to implement pragmatic policies that would improve the livelihood of the people. Superintendent Francis Agrippa Oppong, District Police Commander, commended the DCE for the initiative and implored him to prioritise the fight against crime. He expressed concern about the upsurge of murder in the district and entreated the DCE to support the Police in their efforts to combat the menace. 27 May 09
