Let us all be mothers for Ghana - Queenmother

Mama Attrato II, Queenmother of Ho-Dome on Sunday called on Ghanaians to show “love and care” to government property and the environment as mothers do to their children.

She said individualism, indiscipline and the lack of maintenance culture for government property must give way to sustainable development anchored on patriotism.

Mama Attrato said this in a telephone interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the relevance of “Mothers’ Day” celebration.

She said the “Mothers’ Day” concept must not be limited to the celebration of individual mothers but public officials and institutions, which helped in transforming society and individuals.

Mama Attrato said, “let us all be mothers for Ghana and change things around us.”

She urged politicians and government functionaries to see themselves as “mothers” of the Country and discharge their duties with fairness, objectivity and patriotism.

Mama Attrato advised young women to be “polished” in character and outlook so they could become responsible mothers in future.

She commended women for their perseverance and urged them to be unwavering in instilling discipline in their children.

Mama Attrato also reminded the Church of its role as a social institution and charged it not to shirk that responsibility.
