Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has urged leaders of the Africa continent to leverage every resource to benefit the people they are serving especially the poor and less privilege.

“We must leverage Africa’s size and the market for the common good of all Africans”, he urged when he spoke during the 5th Annual Commonwealth Summit in London

“We need to open the borders for our people, goods, and services to move seamlessly across the continent”, the Guest Speaker pointed out.

“You need to think deeply”, former President John Dramani Mahama added urging them to emulate Ghana under his watch

“My country, Ghana, was one of the few countries that, following the implementation of strict medical protocols, did not shut our borders for travels to and from”. He observed.

“By opening up Ghana’s borders and allowing the country to be used later as the UN staging post for the movement of drugs and logistics, rather than choosing the easier option of putting up walls or closing our borders and minding our own business, we were able with the aid of the UN and the international community to halt the scourge of Ebola- That was a ‘Common Good”, Mr. Mahama added.
