Lies about Seth Terkpe exposed

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning in recent times has come under intense attack and criticisms for carrying out the directive from the President not to award new contracts, until a substantial amount of debts owed contractors are paid.

In spite of the unwarranted detractions from within his party and that of political opponents, amidst naked lies peddled against him; he is focused and duty bound in delivering the goodies in fulfillment of the President’s Better Ghana Agenda, the government promised the good people of this country.

However, the latest lies about Mr. Seth Terkper, is the most wicked thing that any right thinking person would do to the otherwise hardworking minister.

The report in last Wednesday's edition of the New Statesman Newspaper that the minister wants to cause the arrest of his predecessor is not only false, but weird and absurd.

Mr. Terkper was reported by the New Statesman as putting pressure on the government to arrest Dr. Kwabena Duffour.

According to the paper, Mr. Terkper’s reason for the arrest of his former boss is because Dr. Duffour’s economic management practices were bad.

The paper roped in the President, John Dramani Mahama, saying that he shared the view of his finance Minister.

The report went further to claim that there is an animosity between the President and Mr. Terkper, on one hand and Dr. Duffour on the other, and it is believed that, that was the reason why Dr. Duffour did not attend the National Economic Forum (NEF) held recently at Senchi.

In the report, an aide to Dr. Duffour was said to have claimed that the government would dare not arrest Dr. Duffour.

The aide was reported to have said that Mr. Terkper was incompetent.

It is interesting how an aide to an otherwise calm and gentleman could say things in the manner he did.

It is common knowledge that the presence of Mr. Terkper at the Finance Ministry is scaring persons who were otherwise getting money for no work done.

The hatred for the hardworking minister started immediately he took over and moved to streamline things at the ministry.

It can never be true that President Mahama is having a problem with the former finance minister as the New Statesman would want Ghanaians to believe.

It should be noted that no ministry was created for any particular person and if you are changed, then the world should not come to an end.

The attempt to denigrate Mr. Terkper has exposed certain things that took place under the watch of Dr. Duffour.

In the report, it was said that Dr. Duffour’s bank, Unibank, was in serious liquidity as monies he forwarded from his bank to pay for elections have still not been paid by Mr. Terkper.

If what the paper said was anything to go by, then Ghanaians should applaud Mr. Terkper for doing the right thing.

Again, if Dr. Duffour knew that he was doing the wrong thing and went ahead in order to please the President, then he should not complain about the liquidity of his bank.

From what is coming from the New Statesman’s report, it is obvious that somebody is behind all the attacks on Mr. Terkper.

The report is virtually leading to where the attacks are coming from and very soon names will pop up.

Stay tuned for more revelations soon
