Former President John Agyekum Kuffour has admonished all Ghanaians to accept the Electoral Commission’s declaration of final election results to ensure peace in the country.
In an interview with AdomTV, the Former President noted that despite the provisional results collated and announced by the polling centers in the various constituencies, it is vital that Ghanaians be patient and wait for the official declaration of the Electoral Commission.
He advised Ghanaians to follow in the steps of all seven presidential candidates who last week signed a peace pact to pledge their commitment to accept the final election results regardless of who wins.
There is rising tension as Ghanaians await the final election results in the just ended voting exercise from the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
Provisional results emerging after yesterday’s polls suggest a lead in results by the New Patriotic Party in the Presidential category.
The Electoral Commission has delayed the official release and subsequent declaration of election results over what they describe as ‘several possible instances of overvoting’ a situation that has sparked controversy in the public with many making allegations of “election rigging attempts” against the EC.
