Live Updates: GFA Presidential elections - Round 3

The run-off voting of the GFA elections is underway The run-off voting of the GFA elections is underway

A historic day in Ghana football as 120 delegates go to the polls to elect a new president for the Ghana Football Association.

Two former vice presidents are up against a former Executive Committee member and three persons who held no roles in the former administration.

For the first time in thirteen years the GFA is set to have a new president and after months of campaigns, the showdown comes off today at the College of Physicians.

George Afriyie, Kurt Okraku and Nana Yaw Amponsah are seen as the favourites but Amanda Clinton, George Ankomah Mensah and Fred Pappoe could pull a surprise.

Ahead of the today’s elections, there were the Regional Football Associations and Executive Council elections with some shocking results giving credence to the famous ‘fear delegates’ quote.

A potential injunction was hanging around the elections but just this morning the Court of Arbitration for Sports released a statement rejecting an appeal of injunction by disqualified candidate Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer.

The road is now clear for the first elections after Kwesi Nyantakyi and from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, GhanaWeb will bring you to up to speed on all activities.
