The Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Hon. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, recently conducted a comprehensive tour to inspect the progress of the Odawna and Mallam market projects.

According to him, the purpose of this tour was to provide a crucial opportunity to highlight initiatives aimed at revitalizing market infrastructure and improving operational efficiency.

In an interview with the media following the inspection of the Mallam market, Hon. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah expressed his dissatisfaction with the quality of work done by the contractor, describing it as substandard.

He also criticized the government engineer overseeing the project for negligence and emphasized the need for appropriate disciplinary action.

Addressing concerns raised, the Chief Executive of NKA Consult Engineers and Management Consultants, Dr. Andrews Kwablah, urged the minister to exercise patience, explaining that the project was still underway and aimed for completion by the end of the year. He also assured that efforts were being made to rectify any shortcomings and deliver satisfactory results.

Furthermore, the Municipal Chief Executive for Klottey Korley, Hon. Samuel James Nii Adjei Tawiah, and the Municipal Chief Executive for Ablekuma North, Hon. Kofi Ofori, affirmed their commitment to ensuring that all stakeholders collaborate effectively to meet the minister's expectations.
