Look for Nayele’s ‘powerful people’ in society – Aning tells Gov’t

Security Analyst Dr Kwesi Aning has challenged government to strive to uncover the identity of the so called powerful people Nayele Ametefeh claims have backed her illicit activities over the years.

The 32-year-old Ghanaian lady was handed an eight year jail term by a UK court for illegally possessing and transporting cocaine, a charge she pleaded guilty to.

Her lawyer told the Isleworth Crown Court in the UK, Tuesday, that his client has been backed by powerful people in society since 2004 but failed to mention names.

Commenting on the development, Aning said it is incumbent on the Ghanaian security agencies to find the people she claims have shielded her over the years.

“The so called big people could be playing different roles in her life but whatever it is, either we as the people of Ghana will sit down with the British government and say can we have access to this information; which I doubt the British government will give to us.

“We’ve got to get those names, she cannot throw this in the public domain and presuppose that people will forget about it.

"We have to get the linkages of those people to the support framework so that we can nib it in the bud,” the Head of Research at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre told Joy FM.
