The awards, known for celebrating extraordinary change makers, aim to inspire a culture of giving and positive change throughout the continent.

Nominations for the prestigious awards opened on July 14, 2024, inviting submissions for six weeks.

The main event, scheduled for January 2025 in Nigeria, promises to be a remarkable occasion, with three distinguished first ladies expected to grace the ceremony.

The awards program, established to highlight diverse fields such as education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and peacebuilding, will feature a two-day celebration honouring those who have gone above and beyond in their service to others.

Notable figures expected at the ceremony include H.E. Dominique Ouattara, First Lady of Côte d'Ivoire and founder of the Children of Africa Foundation; H.E. Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of Nigeria and founder of the New Era Foundation; and H.E. Lordina Dramani Mahama, former First Lady of Ghana and President of The Lordina Foundation.

Elgee Info Media, a prominent Nigerian community magazine founded by Samuel Kolawole Akinyemi, has been a pivotal force in bridging local information gaps and advocating for good governance since its establishment in 2014.

"The African Humanitarian Awards 2024 aims to celebrate pan-African excellence by annually recognizing exceptional humanitarians who make significant impacts across the continent," remarked Samuel Kolawole Akinyemi, CEO of Elgee Info Media.

"Our mission is to empower local communities and inspire a wave of positive change by amplifying the impact of humanitarian initiatives,” he added.
