Lordina Mahama tours B/A

Fiaso (B/A), Oct. 13, GNA - Mr Addai Simons, MP for Techiman South, has said the fact that members of the National Democratic Party (NDC) continue to stay even after the party's exist from power was ample indication of the trust and confidence Ghanaians have for the party. He advised members and supporters to intensify their campaign drive and woo more people to join the party towards an overwhelming victory in the December polls.

Mr Simons made the assertion at a rally at Fiaso in the Techiman municipality to welcome Mrs Lordina Mahama, wife of Mr John Mahama running mate of Prof John Evans Atta-Mills as part of her seven-day tour of the Brong-Ahafo Region. He urged Ghanaians not to give the New Patriotic Party the mandate since they could not salvage the country from its economic doldrums as pledged by the party.

Mr Simons said the NPP made a lot of promises during the 2000 and 2004 elections but could not fulfil them. Mrs Mahama pleaded with the electorate to support her husband and the flagbearer to win the elections, so that the NDC would support their initiated development. She stressed the need for women to support the NDC by educating the public of the clear vision of the NDC and to revisit the activities of the party that they used to manage the economy during their era. Nana Kwarteng Ameyaw, Chief of Fiaso who presided reiterated the need for the various political parties to conduct themselves in a matured manner during their campaigns and appealed to the NDC to extend development projects to the area, when given the nod in the December elections.

Mumuni Siaka, Constituency Organizer, Madam Hajia Mariama Sinari, Deputy National Organizer and Madam Zenabu Siaka, Regional Women's organizer took turns to address the rally and advised the polling station agents to be vigilant during the elections.
