Lordina calls on Chiefs and Orphanages in BA

First Lady pays courtesy calls on Chiefs, donates to Orphanages

The First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, paid a courtesy call on the chiefs of Techiman and Nkoranza, while on a three day working visit in the Brong Ahafo region,.

She also visited and donated food items to three orphanages adopted by the Lordina Foundation in the region. Mrs. Mahama reiterated her love, care and commitment to ensuring that children in need are catered for.

The First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama arrived at the Techiman Traditional council to a rousing welcome from women's group from the area.

The Chief of Techiman, Oseadeyo Ameyaw Akumfi IV (the 4th), Queen Mothers, elders and the people commended Mrs. Mahama for her charity works, including the constant provision of items for the upkeep of underprivileged children in society, and her medical outreach programme, to support health facilities with medical supplies, to save the lives of many in the country at large. They pledged to support her in all her meritorious works that is bringing development into the region.

Mrs. Mahama also paid homage to the Omanhene, of the Nkoranza Traditional area, Okatakyie Agyeman Kodom IV and his elders. They also expressed their appreciation to Mrs. Mahama for her contribution to ensuring development in the Nkoranza community.

Mrs. Mahama used the opportunity to thank the chiefs for honouring her and enstooling her as the Sompahemaa of Nkoranza traditional area, Nana Akosua Frema Amponmaa Soka I.

Mrs. Mahama also visited the three orphanages adopted by the Lordina Foundation in the region. She first visited the Frank May New Life Foundation Children's Home, at Techiman. Here she interacted with the children and presented food items to stock their barns. Mrs. Mahama commended the staff for doing their best to care for the children.

Mrs. Mahama and her entourage next visited the Bethesda Children Home, also at Techiman. She made a similar donation there. and expressed her heartfelt desire to put smiles on the faces of underprivileged children and also cater for their needs. The staff and the children were grateful to the First Lady for the gesture.

The children at Let Kids Smile Home, at Nkoranza, also in the Brong Ahafo region, were elated to see Mrs. Mahama. They also got their share of the goodies. The heads of the orphanages prayed for Mrs. Mahama for strength, knowledge and the ability to do more than she is doing so as to bring hope to the less privileged children in the country.
