Some party bigwigs cut the link between President John Mahama and party members such that they had no access to him. I’ve restrained from saying this publicly but I’m being pushed…look, Madam Lordina likes me very much, but could you believe that when I was voted against and I was home after losing my position as the MCE of Ejisu-Juaben, I called her and she snubbed me at a time that I needed her support. I’m saying this for the first time because I feel hurt by that.

He added: “However I decided that no way…it may be the case that something bad had been said about me to her, but I’ll continue to follow her. If you open up and love someone with all your heart and another person ruins that relationship leading to you being sidelined or ignored, it is very painful,” the Former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ejisu-Juaben in the Ashanti Region, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh was speaking to Accra-based Okay FM.

According him, this was the work of certain party bigwigs who have surrounded President John Mahama and his wife and have prevented NDC supporters from getting access to the first family, much to the displeasure of many party supporters.

Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh believes such negative attitude where some key members of the NDC in the Ashanti region including himself, Joseph Yamin, Samuel Sarpong were sidelined from the party’s campaign team, caused the NDC’s defeat in the December 7 general elections.
