A group of concerned assembly members from the Lower West Akyem constituency, led by Joseph Adator, have pleaded with President-elect John Dramani Mahama to fulfill his campaign promise of appointing their MP-elect, Kwame Frempong Owen, to a ministerial position when sworn in.

In a statement, the assembly members expressed their excitement and motivation upon hearing this pledge during the election campaign. They noted that the promise gave them hope and spurred them to work tirelessly to secure victory for the MP-elect in the constituency.

"We were overjoyed when we heard of this promise during the campaign period. It gave us hope and motivated us to work harder for our MP-elect. However, now that the elections are over and our MP-elect has won the seat, we kindly remind our President-elect to fulfill his promise," the statement read.

The assembly members emphasized that Lower West Akyem is a constituency with immense potential and that having a minister from the area would significantly benefit its development. They also highlighted that honouring the promise would reaffirm the President-elect’s commitment to equitable regional development and demonstrate his integrity as a leader.

"Lower West Akyem is a constituency with great potential, and we believe that having a minister from this constituency will greatly benefit our people. It will also show that our President-elect is a man of his word and truly cares about the development of all regions in Ghana," they added.

The group expressed confidence in President-elect Mahama’s leadership and trust in his ability to deliver on his promises. They reaffirmed their commitment to working collaboratively with the MP-elect to bring progress and prosperity to the constituency.

"Once again, we humbly ask H.E. John Dramani Mahama to remember his promise to give our MP-elect a ministerial appointment. We believe that together, we can build a better and brighter future for Lower West Akyem," the statement concluded.

The plea highlights the assembly members' hope for enhanced representation and development in their constituency as they look forward to the new administration’s leadership.
