Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Lydia Alhassan, has outdoored the maiden Ayawaso Entrepreneurial Scheme which seeks to provide employment for the youth.
The project, according to Lydia Alhassan, is an initiative that forms part of government’s policies to reduce the unemployment rate in the country.
A total of 11 fleet of cars were donated to some selected persons in the constituency for commercial purposes. The individuals have been signed on the Uber App and are expected to report to designated electoral managers on sales.
As an entrepreneur, the MP said she took it upon herself to leverage on her skills and harness the mindset of the young people towards independence and wealth creation.
“This is one of many models. This is the Ayawaso entrepreneurial scheme and under that we have the Uber driving model. We have credit union. We are rolling out make-up, interior designs, and fashion designs.”
She insisted that, “this is not an NPP thing” while urging opponents from other political to come on board “to develop our constituency and electoral areas.”
One of the beneficiaries, named Richard Addai said he was happy about the iniative adding that he will encourage more people to sign up for the programme.
On her expectations from beneficiaries, she noted that “I am expecting multiple effects. I am hoping that next year by this time, when we celebrate our first anniversary we should be able to double the fleet.”

Speaking on the 2020 polls Lydia Seyram Alhassan said she confident of maintaining the seat as Ayawaso West Wuogon MP.
According to her, the people of Ayawaso voted for her because of the good faith and trusted that she would be able to deliver as their representative in Parliament.
“I am working for the good people of Ayawaso West. They voted for me, they expected me to deliver and that is what I am doing.”She reiterated.
Hence, “I am not looking at my opponents for now. I want to deliver for the people. Within this short period of time, people here can testify to the fact that I have done so much. I am hoping that the people of Ayawaso West will come on bpard and help us work together.”
