Wa, March 13, GNA - The Upper West Regional Branch of the Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMT), is undergoing massive expansion of its operations to render improved and efficient services to its clients. In line with the expansion, the company has doubled its fleet of buses on some major routes.
Mr. Malik Ibrahim, Regional Branch Manager of MMT said the company would be operating on these routes on daily basis instead of the initial three times schedule.
Mr. Ibrahim, made this known to the Ghana News Agency in Wa on Friday. He said the Wa-Accra and Wa-Obuasi routes were operating on daily basis, while buses now run the Wa-Tamale route twice daily. A special Friday service has been introduced to enable workers who want to travel to Tamale on that day after work for their weekend, to be able to do so without any inconvenience.
Mr. Ibrahim said MMT had extended its services to Wa-Damongo, Wa-Techiman and Wechiau-Kulmasa. Mr. Ibrahim said the region would take delivery of more buses to add to the existing fleet. He said poor road network in the region, coupled with armed robbery were some of the challenges confronting the company.
