MP Confirms Crisis In NDC

The NDC MP for Choggu/Tishigu, Alhaji Abukari Sumani has jumped to the defence of Dr Obed Asamoah, NDC National Chairman who has been criticized by sections of the party as the cause of the opposition’s dwindling fortunes.

Sumani, in a response to a publication in last Saturday’ edition of the Weekend Statesman warned the internal detractors of Obed not to make him a scapegoat for their own ineptitude, implying that the NDC’s Presidential candidate may be apathetic to the course of the NDC.

''Those who may be blaming his alleged apathy for defeat of the NDC in Wulensi (by-election) and their anticipation of similar fate in Navrongo are only looking for scapegoats for their own failures''.

''Could the apathy of Dr Asamoah alone so determine the fortunes of the NDC? His detractors cannot harbour such beliefs given the cavalier and derogatory treatment he has been receiving from them, Alhaji Sumani said. His comments were in reaction to the Weekend Statesman’s reports on the deep divisions within the main opposition party, following the defeat it suffered at the Wulensi by-election.
