MP calls on gov’t to complete Nsawam roads

Mr Frank Annor-Dompreh, Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency, has urged the Government to fulfil its promise of completing the Nsawam-Aburi and Nsawam-Apedwa roads.

He explained that the Government had made numerous promises to complete those roads yet work had stalled, thereby making life uncomfortable for commuters and to a greater extent, to his constituents.

Mr Annor-Dompreh, who made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Koforidua, however, entreated his constituents to remain calm as Parliament put pressure on the Government to fix those roads this year.

“In 2014, we were caught in a web where statutory payments were not made, which made living conditions difficult but I still impress on my constituents to be patient as we press on the authority in charge of the payment of the statutory funds to release them this year,” he said.

The MP alleged that the Government had used an Executive Instrument to lease about 600 acres of land in his constituency to Caridem Company Limited, the new owners of the defunct Nsawam Cannery without consulting the owners of the land, saying thus was worrying...

He called for the return of the land to the chiefs and people of the Constituency to enable them to use the lands for farming.

While wishing his constituents a Happy New Year, Mr Annor-Dompreh urged students in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri area to take their studies seriously because their future successes largely depended on it.

He also called on all workers to work hard to ensure a productive year and asked the Government to fulfil all of its promises.
