MP donates to constituents

Kpone, Aug. 21, GNA - Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, Minister of State and Member of Parliament (MP) for Kpone-Katamanso at the weekend, donated food items worth GHC12,000 to the people of Kpone. The items, includes 45 bags of rice, 15 cartons of fish, 15 bags of maize, and 15 bags of beans.

The items would be shared among the ten clans in the Kpone Township, to help them celebrate their Annual Homowo Festival. The MP also donated 15 bags each of sugar, rice and beans, to the Moslem Community towards their on-going Ramadan. He urged the people to support the government in its policies to help bring development to them.

Mr Afotey Agbo regretted that Kpone was the only traditional town along the coast that has been deprived of a Senior High School for decades, and assured the people of efforts being made by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) to provide them with one. The Minister also donated four sets of jerseys, four footballs and cartons of assorted items, and a cash of GHC1,100 to the youth of Kpone, towards their up-coming inter-community soccer games. He believed the game would help unearth talents among the Youth, and re-kindle the spirit of football in the community and its surroundings.

The MP later inspected some on-going projects in his constituency, including classroom units, road networks, pavements, drainage and street light projects at Oyibi, Michel Camp, Gbetsile, Katamanso, Sebrepor, Kpone, and other surrounding communities. He was optimistic that these projects would be completed and commissioned before the end of the year.
