MP expresses concern about cash demands on NPP

Krobo (Ash), Jan. 5, GNA - Nana Asante Frempong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwabre has advised functionaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be circumspect in their demands for monetary rewards.

He cautioned chairmen and supporters of the party to be conscious of the fact that monetary demands puts a lot of pressure on MPs and other office holders of the party.

Addressing a get-together of the Zone One members of the NPP at Krobo in the Kwabre constituency on Sunday, he said he was always frightened by the way party agents complain about money making it look as if without money they cannot do anything for the party not even to campaign for its.

Nana Asante Frempong therefore, appealed to them to bear with the party and support it to retain power in this year's elections assuring them that if the party won and things were put on a sound footing, they would not be forgotten.

"President Kufuor and his government have started the re-building of the country and cannot do this while at the same time dishing out money freely to people. We lost many things from bad governance". Mr Samuel Boakye-Ansah, a staunch member of the party urged the members to show positive support and concern for the success of the party at this year's elections.

Mr Kofi Frimpong, a founding member of he NPP noted that the government had brought value to the cedi through its prudent economic policies.

Mr Ernest Oppong Opoku, the zonal secretary, asked the members to rekindle their zeal and commence the campaign as well as explain government policies and programmes to the people.
