Kpetoe, April 05, GNA - Mrs Juliana Azumah-Mensah,
Minister of Women and Children's Affairs, on Monday,
presented two flat screen computers and a printer to the Adaklu
-Anyigbe District Education Directorate. The presentation was in response to appeals from the
Directorate, through the District Chief Executive, to enhance the
effectiveness of the Directorate. Mrs Azumah-Mensah, who is also the Member of Parliament
for the area, also presented a Pick-up vehicle to the Agotime
Senior High School, on behalf of government, to enhance
teaching and learning. In a short address, she noted that the two computers were not
enough for the Education Directorate and that efforts were being
made for more logistics for the District. Mrs Azumah Mensah said she was also working to acquire a
school bus for the Agotime Senior High School and a pick-up
vehicle, to help the Education Directorate conduct monitoring
and evaluation. Mr George Guri, District Director of Education, who received
the items, commended the MP for her regular support to the
Directorate and education in the district in general. "We know you have been using your common fund to
renovate classrooms and pay school fees, we are grateful," he
said. Mr Guri said the Directorate is currently housed in a rented
premise and needed permanent offices urgently, to save the
government from paying high rents.
