MTN Reaches out to food victims

MTN Ghana employee volunteers on Thursday June 4 visited Glefe, a suburb of Dansoman, to offer food and support to residents in the locality who were victims of torrential rains and floods that hit Accra and other parts of the country on Wednesday.
MTN staff, as part of MTN’s Y’ello Care employee volunteer programme, distributed packed lunches and assisted victims.
Speaking after the visit to Glefe, the Executive Secretary of the MTN Ghana Foundation, Mr. Robert Kuzoe said, “Wednesday, 3rd June, 2015 has marked its place in the history of Ghana as one of the darkest days ever. Many who were direct or indirect victims of the tragedy and havoc wreaked by torrential rains, flooding and the unfortunate explosion at a fuel station at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, are beyond consolation. At times like this, helpless as we may feel, it is important for all of us to rally quickly to offer support and comfort.”
Residents of Glefe were grateful that in their time of need, MTN Ghana had come to comfort them and share in their grief.
MTN as part of its 21 days of Y’ello Care activities plans to provide more relief items to the affected victims in Accra. This is being done in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Organization (N.A.D.M.O).
MTN Ghana is committed to brightening lives in communities through timely and valuable social interventions.
