Bolgatanga, Oct 05, GNA - Mr Peter Mac Manu, the Western Regional Chairman of the News Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed optimism that he would emerge victorious as the National Chairman of the party in the election slated for November 19.

Speaking to the GNA in Bolgatanga where he held meetings with new executive members and some supporters at the weekend, he said his assessment was based on the warm reception he had got from the party executive and the supporters during his campaign tour of the region. He said he was also received with enthusiasm in the Brong Ahafo, Northern, Western and Easter regions. "I stand the chance of winning the chairmanship.

He said he would set up a full time research and intelligence unit to play a watchdog role and ensure that opportunists and selfish politicians do not infiltrate into the party to destroy it.

Mr Manu said he would also set up vibrant public relations units that would market the NPP's policies and projects to the public. On how he would solve the internal conflicts in the NPP, he said "I do not have monopoly over wisdom. I would consult people who are professionals within the party to tackle such problems," he said.
