Mac-Manu to contest NPP National chairmanship position

Kumasi, Aug. 13, GNA - Mr. Peter Mac-Manu, Western Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has advocated for an electoral alliances at the local levels to ensure victory for the party at all times.

Speaking to journalists in Kumasi on Friday to introduce himself as one of the contestants to the National Chairmanship position of the party, Mr. Mac-Manu said he would work to form and ensure effective collaboration with smaller parties at the local levels to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP at all times when elected as the chairman of the party.

He said as an experienced fund-raiser, he would energised the grassroots to generate funds for the party's activities. Mr. Mac-Manu, who is also the chairman of the Organisational Committee of the party, decried the current situation where the local levels of the party had been left "in tatters" and said he would build a team with all ranks and files of the party to ensure solid foundation at the local levels.

He stressed the need for formidable research and public relations unit in the party and said if elected as chairman, he would establish a strong public relation section for the party. He called on the party members to give him the chance to prove himself and consolidate the work which Mr B.J. da Rocha began in 1992.
