Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, has appealed to government to complete abandoned projects in the Kusaug area started by the John Mahama administration.

He mentioned the Tamne irrigation dam in the Tempane district, rural electrification, health facilities, community senior high at Sapelliga in Bawku West, Bolga-Bawku-Pulmakom road among others as the projects abandoned halfway.

Mr Ayariga made the appeal while speaking at a durbar to mark the 32nd Samanpiid festival of the chiefs and people of Kusaug on behalf of the six MPs within the Kusaug Traditional area.

He said the completion of the Tamne irrigation dam will create employment for the youth and also make a year-round farming possible for the residents of the area.

The MP also appealed for the construction of a government hospital in Bawku to augment Bawku Presbyterian Hospital which is the only referral facility for Pusiga and Binduri districts.

Meanwhile, the paramount chief of Kusaug Traditional area Zugraan Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II has also called on government to construct hospitals in districts under Kusaug to improve healthcare delivery in the area.
