Former President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Tamale in the Northern Region to begin a five-day campaign tour of the region.

Mr Mahama will interact with delegates in the constituencies, ahead of the flagbearership elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in December. Last week, he was in the Central Region to inform delegates and members of the NDC of the on-going reforms in the party as well as efforts to strengthen its structures.

Following the recently held constituency and regional executive elections, Mr Mahama has also been asking NDC delegates to unite for victory in the 2020 elections. He has also been promising to work hard to reduce the high cost of living as well as provide jobs.

Mr Mahama also says “a new NDC government will improve the Free SHS programme and make it better by abolishing the current shift (double track) system and re-introduce the more efficient three terms per academic year programme. We will also bring back the emphasis on skills training, technical and vocational education to provide students with more options, as they go forward with their choices in diverse career and aptitude paths”
