President John Mahama must sack his deputy minister of trade and industry, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed over the young appointee’s recent tirade on Radio and social media, a political science lecturer at the Methodist University College (MUC) Dr. Bonsu Osei Owusu has told Agoo FM’s morning show Enne Nso Biom.
Mr Muhammed went on a tirade recently on Tamale-based Diamond FM accusing one of his fellow MPs (unnamed) of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) up north, of scheming to create disaffection for him and eventually get him voted out in the forthcoming parliamentary elections in 2016.
Apart from that Mr Muhammed wrote on his Facebook wall that the said MP, who is also a Minister, contracted a girl to seduce a fellow Cabinet Minister so she could obtain that Minister’s nude pictures for mischievous purposes.
President John Mahama, Starr News has learnt, has summoned Mr Murtala Muhammed over the matter.
It is yet to be known what decision the President intends to take against the deputy Minister, but Dr. Owusu told Agoo FM’s Nana Yaa Boamponsem Ameyaw in an interview Friday that the Nanton MP does not deserve to continue serving in Government after his conduct.
“If he could say such things in the public domain, then I don’t think he deserves to continue being a deputy Minister,” Dr. Owusu said, adding that such comments are not worth emulating by the youth
