Mahama giving Ghana “doctored” leadership – Gabby

Former Executive Director of the Danquah Institute (DI), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko says the Mahama administration is offering Ghanaians “doctored” leadership.

Speaking about an alleged doctoring of a recent speech delivered by President John Mahama in the Ashanti region while on a three-day working visit, Mr. Otchere-Darko said: “I hope that the Government will rather focus on the doctored competence that they are giving us in government rather than talking about the tape or the voice of the President being doctored”.

“Really the leadership that is being given Ghanaians now appears to be more doctored than the voice of the President,” he said on Saturday.

There’s a raging media debate over whether the President’s voice was really doctored or the presidency’s claim of doctoring and subsequent release of what it insists is the “original” tape isn’t rather an attempt to douse the alleged ethnocentric comments supposedly made by the President.

On the allegedly doctored tape, the President is heard describing the people of Kumasi – the stronghold of the main opposition New Patriotic Party – as ingrates, who would insist the NDC isn’t delivering even if his administration coated all the roads in Kumasi in gold.

In the alleged genuine tape supplied by the government, the President is heard making the same comment but within a generalised context without mentioning any specific ethnic group.

Mr. Otchere-Darko however told Joy FM’s Newsfile programme on Saturday that: “As far as I’m concerned, if there’s any tape that appears to be doctored, it is the one that appears to be correcting what was doctored”.
