Deputy Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said the government has fully paid salary arrears owed former President John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, the arrears were paid as at July 18, adding government has no issue with the former President.

“As far as I know he’s been paid his ex gratia, he’s been paid all arrears of his salary and has been fully for his year 2018,” he said.

The Deputy Information Minister was reacting to claims by aide to John Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, that the former president’s office had not received a dime from the current government as salary.

Speaking to an Accra-based radio station, the Joyce Mogtari indicated that all efforts made to ensure the current government to fulfill its mandate of paying the former president his emoluments as spelt out in the Professor Dora Francisca Edu- Buandoh presidential committee on Article 71 office holders have failed.

The latest revelations by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah however debunk the claims by Joyce Bawa Mogtari.

The Deputy Information Minister stressed that the government has fully paid the former president all arrears owed and do not owe him any arrears.
