The Eastern Regional Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. David Prah, says former President Mahama and National Democratic Congress (NDC) wants to reduce next year’s general election to chaos and hatred-preaching.

He added that come 2020, Ghanaians were going to measure the two political parties on accountability, performance, and vision and not tribal sentiments and hatred preaching.

“I am very disappointed in former President Mahama as the Flagbearer of the main opposition NDC, because it has been a year since he was elected as the Presidential Candidate of the NDC and yet he has not come up with any campaign message,” David Prah exclusively told Kwaku Dawuro on ‘Anopa Nkomo‘ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7

“NDC has lost focus that is why they have resulted in in inciting their members to cause chaos. Mahama’s plan is to create violence and discredit the outcome of the 2020 election results,”he added

To him,” former President Mahama should rather come up with a campaign message for the 2020 elections for serious debate as Nana Addo as opposition leader did rather than inciting his party faithful against the Electoral Commission.”

Background

Former President John Mahama advised the Electoral Commission to reconsider their position on the voters’ register impasse arguing that the country does not have enough time for a new register before the December polls.

“If you look at the amount of time left and the fact that they are now going to bring in new machines and start writing names for a new register and then train people to man the machines, we are saying the time left is too short,” Mr Mahama said when fishermen from Axim paid a courtesy call on him.

He stressed: “So if on the day of voting, people can’t find their names and the machines don’t work well, and things don’t go well, what do we do? that’s why we are telling Jean Mensah and the Commission that they should be careful because this country has been living in peace before they came and so they should do anything to create chaos for us.

“If they say they won’t listen and they will go ahead with their new register plans and chaos happens, they should own up and accept responsibility”.
