Mahama is a great striker like Asamoah Gyan - Ade Coker

Greater Accra Regional Chairman for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Ade Coker is assuring the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) that there will be no change of government in the upcoming 2016 General Elections.

He based his strong conviction on the fact that Ghanaians are aware of the exceptional performance of President John Mahama since he took over power from late President John Evans Atta Mills.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Ade Coker challenged that assertion that the opposition NPP leader, Nana Akufo-Addo is likely to win the November 7, 2016 polls, because like the late President Mills, he [Nana Addo] is also contesting the Presidency for the third time.

He explained that the scenario is not the same because the late President Mills’ third attempt at the Presidency was with a new Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo and not with a sitting President, making it impossible for a change to occur in the 2016 General Election.

“... Nobody should think that Ghanaians will change President Mahama because Nana Akufo-Addo is contesting the Presidency for the third time just as late President Mills did to win the election. Late President Mills won because both candidates were new in the race, but with this case, President Mahama is a sitting President and he is working and that makes the difference,” he asserted.

“We are all aware of the work of President Mahama and so why change the winning team? Have you heard that before? If you have Asamoah Gyan in your Black Stars team striking for you, will you change him for another striker you don’t know his performance?” he quizzed.

He maintained that President Mahama has worked very hard as he is touring the whole country commissioning and cutting sods to commence new projects.
