President John Dramani Mahama has left Johannesburg, South Africa, back to Ghana, after a two-day official visit.
While in South Africa, President Mahama joined other heads of state to pay his last respects to late former President Nelson Mandela at the Union Buildings in Eastern Cape, where he is laid in state.
President Mahama also held short closed door meetings with President Jacob Zuma at the Presidential Guest House in Pretoria, and later visited Graca Michel, widow of the late Mandela, at their Johannesburg residence where teeming mourners had gathered to catch a glimpse of august visitors.
The late former President died on Thursday, December 5, at the age of 95, and would be buried on Sunday at Qunu in the Eastern Cape, where the African icon grew up.
His death has attracted leaders from all over the world to South Africa, where the week-long funeral is currently being held.
