President John Mahama has left Accra Wednesday for the 24th African Union Summit, which is being held in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.
Mr. Mahama, who is also Chairman of ECOWAS, is among other things, expected to discuss the upcoming elections in Nigeria with his colleague African leaders.
This year’s summit is under the theme: "Women's Empowerment Year and Africa Development for the concretisation of Agenda 2063".
Deliberations will mainly focus on progress made in empowering African women, the key role the NEPAD Agency is playing in Agenda 2063, outcomes of the Dakar Financing Summit, and decisions made at the Malabo Summit in June 2014, amongst Africa’s most pressing issues.
