Mahama must be decisive in fighting corruption –Akosah

A former Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa, has charged President John Mahama to show “decisiveness” in dealing with corruption in the country.

According to him, although the wheels of justice grind slowly, the conduct and attitude of the President counts a lot in the fight against the menace.

The Presidency was adjudged the second most corrupt public institution in the country in a recent survey conducted by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA).

Although the government has rubbished the findings of the survey, Prof. Badu Akosa says the President must do more to stamp out corruption from the country.

“People’s perception should be taken seriously and I expect the President to take them seriously.

“In the last few years, there have been issues of GYEEDA, SUBAH and the rest which must be dealt with.

“And I know that the wheels of justice grind slowly but again; I think it is important that the President shows decisiveness in dealing with these corrupt cases,” the former GHS boss told Citi FM.
