Mahama must be truthful with Ghanaians - Minority

The Minority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has admonished President Mahama to be candid with Ghanaians in his State of the Nation Address scheduled for Tuesday February 25.

Speaking on Strict Proof with host Isaac Kaledzie Monday, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said the President must not use the occasion to make promises and outline programmes that his government intends to embark on but rather tell Ghanaians the real state of Ghanaian economy and other relevant issues.

He described as unfortunate the situation where previous administrations fail to tell Ghanaians the real state of the country but seize the opportunity to make promises that are never fulfilled.

“The President is expected to tell the truth…but many have come in with their own program and gone on a spree of promises which have ended in a tragedy” the Suame MP said.

President Mahama is expected to address parliament on Tuesday on the state of the nation.

The president is expected to touch on the economy, the state of energy supply among others.
