Mahama names 12-member campaign team

Former President John Dramani Mahama has named a 12-member campaign team to manage his bid to contest the presidential candidate position for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

A statement issued and signed by the campaign spokesperson Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng said Mr. Daniel Ohene Agyekum, a former Ambassador to the United States of America, has been appointed the Campaign Manager.

Mr Ohene Agyekum has held various ministerial positions, including former Ashanti Regional Minister, Minister for Chieftaincy Affairs and other senior level public appointments.

Nii Vandepuye Djangmah, a former a former Deputy Regional Minister for the Greater Accra Region and Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, a former member of the National Development Planning Commission were named as Deputy Campaign Managers.

Others include Mrs. Elsie Esenam Appau-Klu and Adwoa Serwaa Bondzie who are Deputy Spokespersons for the Campaign. Dr Callistus Mahama, a former Head of the Local Government Service is the Administrative And Operations Coordinator while Mr Alexander Kofi-Mensah Mould, former Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and Mr. Kwesi Ahwoi, a former Ambassador to South Africa are Stakeholder Coordinators.

Other Stakeholder Coordinators include Priscilla Arhin, a former executive member of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), Madam Sherry Ayitey, a former Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development and Mr. Alfred Abayateye, a former Member of Parliament for Sege Constituency.



The statement quotes former President Mahama saying “I am fortunate to have the backing of such an impressive group of hardworking people, who are as committed as I am to the road ahead.

Their combination of years of experience, vision, energy and new ideas is inspiring and I am excited to work with them.”

It further said the team is visiting delegates in the regions to hear what they have to say, listen to their concerns as well as their views on how we can move the party and Ghana forward.
