Former President, John Dramani Mahama on Thursday officially informed the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress of his intention to contest in the upcoming Presidential primaries of the party.

He made this decision after he consulted the founder of the party, Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, Senior Comrades and the grassroots of the party across the world.

Some Members of Parliament (MP) were happy about the decision His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama made saying he has hearken to the cries of constituents which was presented to him four months ago.

Adding that, “Today marks a momentous day in the struggle towards salvaging our dear Republic from the misrule and inept governance we have saddled with over the past 20 months. ”

MPs4JM have affirmed their support for John Dramani Mahama stating that “Our support is volitional and of our freewill. We have pledged to contribute our time, expertise and personal resource to campaign for John Mahama to ensure a resounding victory in the Presidential primaries and galvanize the entire party around his candidature to wrestle power from the clumsy and inept government of Nana Addo Dnkwa Akufo-Addo”.

MPs4JM is a group which is made up of ninety-four Members of Parliament from the Minority out of a total of one hundred and six (106) MPs.

This group have said that the minds of Ghanaians have been polluted by the President and his appointees.

“Ghanaians have been bedeviled by the cronyism, nepotism, wanton corruption, super incompetence, reckless acts of violence and the shocking disregard for the rule of law by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his appointees.

They asserted that, the increasing cost of living coupled with the near breakdown of all social infrastructure from the National Health Insurance to the Senior High School system and ever rising fuel cost has left Ghanaians at the lowest points of despondency.

According to the MPs4JM, NDC has learnt their mistakes and promises John Dramani Mahama would present to Ghanaians a workable and tangible policies in the 2020 elections.

They stated emphatically that, the said policies would alleviate the suffering of Ghanaians , restore their confidence in the economy and set Ghana on the path of socio-infrastructural development.

They therefore call on all sundry across the country to support their campaign for John Dramani Mahama.

“We would be actively engaging with stakeholders across the country in conjunction with the Campaign Office of John Dramani Mahama to mobilize support for this noble cause”.
