The Conventional People’s Party (CPP) is calling for psychiatric attention to be conducted on suspected killers of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama who was gruesomely murdered at Denkyira-Boase in the Upper Denkyira West District of Central Regional in line of duty.

“What they have done is madness, foolishness and beyond the thinking of any reasonable person on this Earth. We should conduct checks in their brains …maybe the people are all mad,” a Communications Director of CPP fumed.

Expressing disgust over the circulation of video footage about the gruesome murder of the senior military officer by the residents, Mr. Osei Kofi Acquah described the people as "cruel, heartless people who should not be spared for the heinous crime committed”.

“They deserve stiffer punishment for their criminal act. They must not be spared of this inhumane act in the name of human rights” he pointed out during a panel discussion on Kumasi-based Abusua FM hosted by Kwame Adinkra.

Meanwhile, seven people including Assembly member of the area, William Baah who are alleged to have masterminded the killing of Captain Maxwell Mahama have been provisionally charged with conspiracy and murder.

Yaw Annor a unit committee member who was possession of the weapon of the dead soldier, William Baah the assembly member, William Baah Bismark Donkor, Phillip Badu, Kofi Nyame, Anthony Amoah and Kofi Badu have however been remanded into prisons custody by a Magistrate Court in Cape Coast on June 1, 2016 to allow investigators to delve deeper into the case.

Police prosecutors led by. ASP Avornyo however, told the court presided by Rita Amonyiwaa Edusah the charge is provisional and more could be added to it after police’s investigations.
