A member of President John Mahama’s legal team has confirmed to Joy News the President would by the close of day today respond to the election petition filed by the NPP.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, his running mate, and Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, the National Chairman of the NPP, filed a petition at the Supreme Court challenging the declaration of President John Dramani Mahama as winner of the December 2012 presidential election.
President John Mahama has up to today, Saturday, to file his response to the election petition filed by the three.
Nana Ato Dadzie said, “I believe the president is receiving the best legal advice that he is entitled to. I believe by the end of the close of the day, the president’s answer would have been lodged with the registrar. I am quite certain that it’s being filed.”
