Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Allotey Jacobs has hinted that former President John Dramani Mahama might be re-elected to lead the party into Election 2020.

Allotey Jacobs made this subtle revelation on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' on Wednesday.

He was commenting on the party's 'Unity Walk' at Cape Coast in the Central Region which saw in attendance former President John Mahama, dignitaries and party faithfuls.

According to the NDC Central Regional Chair, the “brutal” show of support and the outpouring of love for former President John Mahama shows that Ghanaians are now beginning to realize that not all that glitters is gold.

He further posited that the former president spent more than two hours with traders and ordinary Ghanaians and none of them seemed impressed with the way the Nana Akufo-Addo-led administration is handling the affairs of the country.

"This means that we are now back again. This gives us comfort that in 2020 things will go well . . . that is the signal," he said.

Allotey Jacobs believes that former President John Mahama, as a Presidential candidate for the NDC, will surely clinch victory for the party, come 2020.

He told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that "there's nothing new on earth. What will be done has been done. What has been done will be done . . . The fact is that what will be done has been done. It is likely that when President Mahama contests, he could win the elections again”.
