Make the service more efficient -Civil Servants

Accra, Dec. 24, GNA - The Civil Servants' Association of Ghana on Friday urged the government to make the Service more efficient, effective and reliable.
The Association said in a Christmas and New Year Message issued by the National Secretariat that the government should provide them with essential tools, incentives and better conditions of service. "As we pledge our support and loyalty, we wish to request the government to turn its attention to the Civil Service to make it a more efficient, effective and reliable institution by providing them with the essential tools to work with. It should also make available incentives and improved conditions of service."
The Message noted that this year was full of challenges with civil servants supporting the state to conduct a successful election. "Civil servants, in spite of sudden reduction in their salaries, supported government to implement some of its major programmes like the National Health Insurance Scheme.
"We wish to congratulate civil servants for the patriotism and loyalty they demonstrated during this period."
The statement reminded civil servants that as they get ready to enter the New Year, their work is far from complete as their greatest energies and selfless services would be required to support the government to move the government's agenda of Positive Change II forward.
"The Association wishes to call on all its members to accept new challenges with enthusiasm and deliver as we have always done." The Association congratulated President John Agyekum Kufuor and all MPs elect and assured them that they can continue to count on the loyalty and dedication of the service.
