Some Mamprugu students at the Wa campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS), who hail from Bawku in the Upper East region have congratulated Nana Akuffo Addo, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for retaining Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate for the 2012 general election.
They also congratulated Dr. Bawumia for accepting to partner Nana Addo and pledged their unflinching support for them to enable them win power in the forthcoming elections and "free the people of Ghana from a non-performing Mills-Mahama government".
This was contained in a press statement issued and copied to the GNA in Wa by Belko Jonas Moli-President, Wuni Aminu-Communications Director and Sam Bagre-Secretary of the Mamprugu Youth Group.
They expressed absolute confidence in Dr. Bawumia based on his achievements both nationally and internationally and believed he would "help fix the limping and collapsing economy of Ghana and bring it to a world class economy."
The youth reaffirmed their support for the Nana-Bawumia ticket and promised to work assiduously and relentlessly in order to ensure victory for the NPP in the December elections.**
