A 30-year-old man, Kwabena Mensah, has been killed by his own friends with sticks and stones after an argument over GH¢200 they retrieved from a developer.

Police sources say the deceased and the suspects were friends and also believed to be Asafo members of the Kasoa Odupong Ofaako Stool.

Sources say the deceased and the suspects went to a site and demanded GH¢7,000 from a developer who had disobeyed the ban on noise-making imposed by the stool. They stated that during that period, nobody was allowed to work on the land or make noise.

Edem Saglo, the brother of the deceased, said that after handing over the GH¢7,000 to the authorities, they went ahead and demanded GH¢200 from a different developer.

He said the deceased confronted the suspect for his share of the money, which led to a misunderstanding in the morning.

Edem Saglo said the suspects attacked them in the evening while they were drinking at a drinking spot around 11:00 PM on Sunday, June 30, 2023.

Edem stated he went unconscious after one of the suspects hit him with a stick, and by the time he was revived, his brother was dead.

The suspects are at large, and the case has been reported to the Kasoa Ofaako District Police Command.
