A 56 year old security man has found himself in the grips of the law for allegedly attempting to kill his wife over sex denial.

The culprit, David Agbenu, who doubles as a vegetable farmer along the Tema-Accra Motorway was reported to have used a concrete block to hit his wife’s head, who is only identified as Comfort.

Suspect further attempted ingesting the wife with DDT, a poisonous substance on the farm.

The woman who sustained serious degrees of injuries on the head and other parts of her body was rushed to the Ashaiman Poly Clinic for treatment by some nearby farmers who rescued her from the furious husband.

Information gathered by the DAILY GUIDE indicated that the couple had recently had misunderstanding and the man threatened to kill the wife. Out of fear, the woman vacated her matrimonial bed to sleep in another room in the same house.

This, among other reasons angered the husband who followed the wife to the farm with the DDT and the block to kill her.

Police said the suspect would be charged for causing harm and attempted murder after investigations.

Superintendent William Daah, the Crime Officer of the Ashaiman Divisional Police Headquarters confirmed the incident which occurred last Wednesday July 15, 2015 to DAILY GUIDE saying that the suspect and his wife were living peacefully at their residence in Old Tulaku, a suburb of Ashaiman until a day before the incident when the couple had a domestic problem.

“On Tuesday, they had a misunderstanding and the man threatened to kill the wife. The man who was asleep before the woman left home early in the morning to harvest some food crops for sale at the market, later woke up and followed her to the farm,” he narrated.

Without any provocation, the Crime Officer continued, he used the cement block to hit his wife’s head. He added that the suspect who was holding some quantity of DDT in a bottle, further pounced on his wife and tried to forcibly pour it into the woman’s mouth.

The woman however, managed to overpower the man and raised an alarm which attracted some nearby farmers who came to her rescue.

The suspect was later handed over to some visibility police personnel who were around.
