Man commits suicide in Accra

Accra, Sept. 7, GNA - A man believed to be in his early 40's was on the early hours of Wednesday found hanging near the Accra Girls Secondary School in Accra.

The man was wearing a black shirt and a pair of brown trousers.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abubakari Jambeidu, who is Second in Command at the Kotobabi Police Station in Accra, said the police received information that a man had hanged himself at a spot near the Accra Girls Secondary School.

He said when the Police got to the scene at 0800 hours, the deceased was found hanging from a tree with a cable wire. His identity card and August pay slip were found on him.

ASP Janbeidu said the name on the identity card was Omoro Kardo, a worker at the PWD Prestige.

He said the corpse had been conveyed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Mortuary as investigations continued.
