Tema, Sept. 16, GNA -- A painter at the Sakumono Coastal Estates who used his familiarity with an eight and a half year-old girl, lured her with gifts and defiled her has been remanded by the Tema Circuit Court 'B'. Theophilus Dorsa Dornne, pleaded not guilty to defiling the girl, and will re-appear on Wednesday, September 22. Police Chief Inspector Alice Gyamfi, prosecuting, told the court, presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that on September 4, the accused person informed the victim's mother that he had bought a nice dress for the victim whom he calls his wife.
Chief Inspector Gyamfi said two days later, the victim's mother saw the accused person near her house. The prosecution said when the mother enquired about the dress, the accused person asked the victim to accompany him to his house to collect it. She stated that on the victim's return later, her mother detected that she was walking abnormally, and therefore became suspicious. Chief Inspector Gyamfi said when the mother questioned the victim, she disclosed that the accused person defiled her in his room. Consequently, she said, a report was made to the Sakumono Police who immediately arrested the accused person.
